As creators, we want as many people as possible to play these games, and also to give Japanese players a chance to replay them. TK: So, that’s something that I have heard for years now and the truth is that this time the only way to play those games is on outdated hardware.

" BC: This wouldn’t be a western Falcom interview unless we asked if there are plans to localize Zero no Kiseki and Ao no Kiseki in the west, at this point, I’m sure a PC port will suffice? they should have been contacting publishers a few months ago, an upscaled PSP game is not an interesting project, and letting the publisher start working after the japanese release (that in this case means roughly 6-7 months before the new system in the PS family is released) is a really bad way to make the proposal interesting.Įdit: I found it ( Noisy Pixel interview): Either way, if Falcom really wants Crossbell to be localized to English.
#Zero no kiseki and ao no kiseki license#
Geofront isn't going to license it because there are so many people involved with both their work and the original work it's based on, and the original project lead not wanting it licensed.Ĭlick to shrink.Yes, I know the interviews and I'm sure that he responded to the same question in some other interview with "I'm sure the game will be published on the west", but this can be a translation error so I wouldn't trust it too much. They are typically secretive of their upcoming projects, but if part of the reason these ports came into existence was for western releases, it's entirely reasonable that they might have had talks with NISA earlier than usual.Īnd again, NISA isn't picking up the fan translation because of "politics." The original fan translation was led by a guy that said outright he wasn't licensing his work. Since the scripts for Zero and Ao are already finalized, there's no reason they couldn't already be in the works if Falcom wanted to go that route. They did a couple games with Sony for Korean(?) localizations during development and I don't think they want to do it again. That's hard on them and the translators/editors trying to fix all that in multiple languages constantly. AFAIK Falcom doesn't like to work on localization during development because they make script changes basically until the games go gold.
